Default New my07 BB

Just picked up a new 2007 Berlina Black s2000. Had a 2 hour drive to pick it up and they said they would get it ready to go. Me not thinking of course forgot to tell them not to wash it. Well when I got there I wasn't a happy camper. Swirl marks everywhere but I knew they could be removed. Anyways heres some pics. The car is covered in them.

----------
So I went to the local store and picked up some Items.
----------

I got a Cyclo on the way also. Being I never used any detailing machine before I have also have purchased a hood from the junk yard to practice on and plan on doing my winter beater/daily driver a 96 ford explorer and probably my dads expedition first.

I just wanna make sure Im on the right step with the detailing products. Ive only used the megs deep crystal product line on my 01 s2000 that I recently sold.

I plan on using the #2 followed by the #9 and then finish with the NXT.

Any suggests or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

Those are ok for over the counter products. as for the polishing, try #9 before going to #2. you might find out that you won't need #2 if the swirl marks arn't too deep.

congrats on the new car!!

seems to be a broken record- dealer washes new unswirled car... and car always has swirls afterwards!!

great idea to practice on a junk hood- be sure to check out our how tos and the videos in there on machine use.

your qd is good for claying and general cleaning- for in between washes, i like a detail spray with carnauba to boost the shine a bit. and nxt is a "short life" product (not a big deal for most of us)-

and post up any questions that you run across!

I don't like the term "over the counter product". What would be the best for my car?

Also it will never see rain, snow... no bad weather. I would like a show car look on it all times.

How about a megs #26 instead of the NXT?

Zaino is a great choice! Get ready for 6 month protection and shine!

First time using a cyclo. Very fun and easy. I just finished up on the ford explorer. The hood could of used some sanding but that will probably be my spring project. Other than that it turned out awesome. Very happy with it.

I ended up using Megs 9 and 26 and not the NXT.

Edit: Woot. Been a member for a year as of today!

Nothing like practicing on the daily / beater!

I'll be using a PC for the first time on Sunday, on my daily of course
