Default A new MR2 Spider owner found this!!!!

Our top is made by the same company!!!!
So looks like we treat it with 303 Protectant and let it be!

Quote from article:
"The MR2 Spyder comes one way and pretty much includes any features you might want. Air conditioning, ABS, power windows and door locks and a tilt steering wheel are all standard. Plus, it boasts something its higher-priced competitor, the Honda S2000, doesn't have: a glass rear window with defroster. However, the ragtop, though made by the same company that makes lids for the S2000 and the Miata, is a bit more cumbersome than those two models. It is necessary to get out of the car before putting it up or down. Plus, you can't get leather upholstery." To be exact...

It may be true that the tops are made by the same company, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are the same material and should be protected the same way.

BTW, I'm just playing devil's advocate, because I use 303 on the top myself

NO NO!!! I useed the Porsche stuff but if our top is actually a composite top layer being vinyl and bottom being cloth(squished together like a sandwitch) then I want to take care of it properly!

You say you use 303 is that 303 Aerospace protectant or the fabric guard? BTW: I used 303 years and years ago and never really knew how good it was!!!

I used the 303 fabric guard when I first bought the car and thought we had a canvas top, not vinyl. It didn't seem to damage it, and the water repellant properties were awesome. I could totally tell where I hadn't applied the stuff.
I have the 303 aerospace stuff too, which I use on the dash and seats (with leather conditioner on the seats as well). I'm going to use the aerospace stuff on the top instead of the fabric guard next time I have a chance.

If you don't know about 303 stuff, click here I got my 303 protectants at a boating store.

If you are looking for car care stuff for the first time, you may also have a hard time finding Plexus, which is a cleaner and polisher for clear plastic, like the back window, for example. You can find Plexus at motorcycle shops.

Yea I use that stuff on the seats in my car! Though I do have some specific stuff thats leather only. I use the 303 for a touch up to keep it slippery!

303 is amazing stuff!

Yep! I use it on my seats, too. It probably doesn't condition the leather, though, so I use meguiar's gold class leather conditioner first, with the 303 aerospace on top of it. My seats haven't turned green or anything yet, so I think I'm doing okay.
