New car wax?
The dealer got my S2K on may 8th. i was wondering if i could apply wax to it yet. i received my order of zaino yesterday and am so ready to polish my S but my friend said you should wait a while on new paint to apply wax. he said when his cousin bought a jag. the dealer told him to wait 6 months to apply wax. i've heard on this board that some people apply it the weak after they receive their S. Should I wait??????? I don't want any long term harm to the paint.

You can put Zaino on the day you get your S. By the time the car makes its way from factory to you, the paint has already cured. In fact, don't be surprised that the dealer has slapped a coat of carnauba on the car or something to shiney it up, so don't forget to use Dawn to remove what the dealer put on the car.

our cars have a clear coat over the paint...
you can (and in my opinion, you should) apply the zaino the day you get it home.
you can also ask the dealer not to wash or wax the car- it might look pretty dirty from its trip, but you can then give it the first bath without worrying about having to strip off any wax.
a big advantage to asking the dealer not to clean the car is that they often put swirl marks on the surface if they clean it. you will be a lot more careful than they would be- and you will not be as likely to swirl the car.
