New Car - Too Soon to Wax?
Okay - so I just took delivery of a new 02 Sebring Silver and I want to polish then wax it.
BUT - I've heard that its not a good idea to wax a new car right away?
Is this really true? I imagine that my car has been painted for at least a month now. Right? It arrived at my dealership a few days ago - so it was built like late Nov - so the painted shell probably arrived at the build plant in early Nov with at least a few days of curing before being delivered there.
Oh - and NOW I read that I should maybe claybar the car first.
You guys are the experts - set me straight.

AND I'm going to do a separate post on what products to use...

It depends on the product, but you should be ok.
The old rule used to be 3-6 months, but paints changed and a lot of people didn't. If it's not cured by now, it never will be. Paints cure much faster, shine better, but are definetly softer. Kind of trade off.

Put Zaino on it ASAP... don't wait. Its perfectly fine to do...
(I literally pealed the plastic off mine and Zaino'd it).
Not protecting it is only going to expose the clear to junk sooner...and the UV isn't good for the paint color.

i remember reading that with modern techniques at a factory, the paint is definitely cured out the door. If you get the car repainted at a body shop or such, you might have to wait the few months to let it cure. - so throw some wax on that baby.

Check your "build date" Sometimes before one takes ownership, the paint has been on the car for 4-6 months. Plus, since all the S2000's are made in the Acura NSX plant, delivery time takes a few months. 6 months from build date is playing it safe.
