Zaino is advertized by word of mouth only, so it's not surprising that you haven't heard of it. I never did until I joined this forum.

I'm sure lots of products are good, but I tried Zaino and can't imagine a reason to try anything else, it's that good!

As to being hard to use, pretty much all of the hard work is the first time, mostly to prepare the surface for best application. The claybar is essential to make sure you start with a clean surface (now that I know what this can do, I would use a claybar first before applying ANY brand wax or polish. Starting with a clean surface is 90% of the work.) After the initial coat, applying another coat and/or a quick detail with the Z-6 gloss enhancer could not be easier. It's waaaay easier than any wax I've ever used.

I figured there was a reason why there are so many Zaino fanatics on this board. Now I'm one of them.

Which Meguiar's wax are you going to use on the S2000? I used to use their Gold Class on my Eclipse and people used to asked me at the lights what I used on my car. I met a British girl that followed me for 5 miles in that car after waxing it. Their products definitely work. I wrote Meguiar's asking if their Gold Class or Medallion series wax contained silicone and I never got an answer from them so I never put it on my S2000. I also tried asking Mother's about their products if they included silicone. Mother's just replied back by saying some silicones are not harmful to the paint. I've used some of Meguiar's Professional Series products in the tan colored bottles but it has to say Paintable on the front so you know it has no silicone. The only product I'm using is Meguiar's Final Inspection detailer and the Show Car Glaze polish because they don't contain silicone. I would probably use Meguiar's Medallion Paint Protection if I knew it had no silicone it it.

The Claybar is a bar of this rubbery, gummy material (I have no idea what it's made of). After washing your car, you use it with some lubricant (usually some sudsy water), rubbing it across the paint to pick up any bits of tar, rail dust from transporting your car, and whatever else is stuck to the paint surface. I used the Zaino one about a week after getting my car, and was surprized how much crap it picked up (and it only had about 70 miles on it at the time!). You can feel the difference in the surface with your fingers - makes a baby's bottom seem like sandpaper!

Highly recommended!

This is what I found on Meguiar's website under the Tips, Myths and Lies section that made me look for non silicone products.

Should I use a non-silicone wax?
If your car needs repainting, silicone-based waxes create extra work for the painter. The wax will have to be stripped to avoid "fish eye" problems in the painting process. The silicone embeds itself in the finish, and new paint won't adhere properly. The use of some silicone does make certain wax formulas easier to spread. Meguiar's has been the leader in non-silicone technology because of its heavy involvement in the professional field, and most of our retail waxes and polishes are silicone free-yet incredibly easy to use. For more information call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-347-5700, and talk with a surface care specialist. Or, use the convenience of e-mail.

Didn't you read the replies to this thread you started????

There's a link to a head to head comparison between Zaino Z1/Z2, Costco Zymol, $144 Zymol NSX Wax , and Meguiars Gold Class.

To sum it up, Gold Class looked awesome, but it didn't last 30 days outside, and so presumably offered little in the way of protection, and as a result, came in dead last...

I used to use Meguires also but after trying Zaino I gave all my Meguires to my sons. I am generally a sceptic with most products but Zaino rules. Multiple layers gives your paint depth that Meguiars will never give you. Gives car a "wet" look.
