Actually, according to the meguiar's 3-step, it says to use cleaner wax, and then polish... so I figured cleaner wax then swirl remover.. (which is pretty much the same as polish)

Here's the Meguiar's 3 step system:
Step 1. Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
Step 2. Deep Crystal Polish
Step 3. Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax

I agree that spray wax is not the best method to do your waxing. I use nxt in a bottle, but do use the spray wax in between waxes. The spray wax is very good for giving the "just waxed" look, but definitely not the best method to use for your primary waxing.
