Default Need advise with the removal of tree sap

Hi guys, I'm posting this cause I know you guys out there are experts I have a friend (2001 Acura CL 3.2 Type S) that has tree sap baked on the finish of her car. I'm not sure what kind of tree it was but car has been sitting in the hot sun with the tree sap for almost a month.

She has tried

nail polish remover
rubbing alcohol
tar/bug remover
clay bar (Meguairs)

The clay bar seems to have worked the best but there is the residue of the sap embedded on the surface. Would can she do? Any advise is greatly appreciated!!

the main problem is that the sap was allowed to stay on the car... i could be hardened now, which will make it very difficult to remove.
i would try goo be gone- a citrus based remover.
it could take lots of work to get the spots off, but the goo be gone should eventually do the trick. it will also remove any wax or other finish on the car, so a rewax will be in order.

The best stuff to remove sap, bugs, etc is available from your Honda dealer. Cleaner Spray, they call it. I need to stock that stuff....

I used a turtle wax foaming tar remover...worked really well. But then again I didn't let it bake for more than a week.

Rubbing alcohol works great for pine and oak sap...rewax after. Comes off easily with the alcohol.
