Default Mugen 3-Piece

Everyone,

I just purchased a new Mugen 3-piece spoiler.

I was hoping to have it painted and just install it myself, since the directions are in Japanese and seem extensive I have some questions.

The wing does not fit perfectly on the car like the OEM spoiler close but some gaps, does it need some finishing and or sanding? There is a section on the directions that I think looks like you may need to remove some material.

First there are 4 holes in the main spoiler and 2 in each if the winglets, but only half of them have a threaded insert. What are the other holes for?

There is double sided tape in the kit do you use with the bolts also? If so on just the winglets or all the pieces

Anything else you know please share.

Thank you.

George

You might get a better response in the S2000 Talk forum. Sorry I'm no help.

George, when I received my 3pc used, it had the tape on all three pieces. You use only only bolt per side piece. Are the gaps on the middle piece? If so, I'd be willing to bet you'll have to swap the 3rd brake light.

Perhaps you can take a pic showing the gaps. It can sit on the car without falling off.

Skip,

Thanks for the pics, that helps .

The gap I am talking about is small, at either end of the 3rd brake light, there is maybe a 5mm gap, it fits perfectly in the middle. Its not really that noticeable. But I am a perfectionist.

Here is a image

Maybe with the 2-sided tape will raise the wing up just enough to make everything square.

Does it "teeter?" Anyone near you with an '01 or older? If it does, then it is the brake light.

No it fits solid on the rear and is totaly lined up with the light, there is just the smallest gap at the ends, you cant really see it unless you are right up on the wing and looking up.

I need a close up up of your car at the rear (you got one?)

I think I am just being paranoid you should have never told me.

Well Fcuk, it looks like I need a pre 2002 center brake light

I took mine off and the spoiler fits perfectly. I will call King on Monday and see if they offer a different spoiler. but I doubt it.
