Moldy Carpet Smell
Hello All,
Long story short, my brother took my car on a short road trip, and threw all of his water bottles in the passenger seat/floor. A bottle on the floor just happened to have a loose cap and slowly completely leaked out. I guess he didn't realize that the water leaked out until the car started to smell a little musty. When I got the car back, I hit it with a steam cleaner followed by a warm water and laundry detergent mixed, and finished it up with rubbing alcohol. I left a fan on all night to dry the carpet and the smell seamed to be gone for a few days...and now it's back again. It's nowhere as strong as it was but it's still evident. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

What he said. The water worked it way though the carpet and ended up in the padding. I would just remove the carpet and hit both sides with some carpet cleaner and let it dry out.
