I find that the best thing to use on your car is a nice fluffy soft genuine wool wash mit. I ordered a black wool washmit from properautocare.com and was amazed at how soft and asorbent it was. I use maguires gold class car shampoo, cause it has natural oils that lubricate the surface and help prevent dirt and rocks from scratching the surface of the paint as you wash. Whatever you do, get rid of any sponges you use because they tend to be flat and collect debris between your paint and the sponge, which can be similar to that of wetsanding your paint and microfiber tends to trap dirt and bugs when washing, which can cause fine scratches in the paint.
