Default MFR S2000 paint recovery/transformation

This car is at a local auto auction and all the dealer wanted was to get rid of the holograms but i couldn't resist to throw a little EX on their just for kicks. If it was my car, i woud've done the Menzerna trio... but he didn't wanna pay to get the paint perfect, just wanted the holograms gone... so that's what i did. either way, fun car and it turned it out good.

Process

Menzerna IP with rotary
Menzerna FP with rotary
PB's EX w/carnauba by hand
303 on tires
Klasse AIO on wheels
303 on the soft top

and of course wash, clay, all MF towels etc etc

BEFORE

that don't look too bad huh??? guess again!!!!

saw your post at Autopia. Good stuff, indeed! Those were some HORRIBLE holograms. You'd almost have to be TRYING to do that!

You certainly did a great job in fixing a big mess! Now I have a stupid question. What the heck did the previous owner do to make this mess? It looks like he/she used a rotary buffer and wet sand to clean the car.! What do you think caused this?

Thanks,
Richard

I'm just going to guess, but I think it was a dealer or auction house that ran their cars through "prep" - where you've got a line of guys doing prep and they have about 5 minutes per car, seldom cleaning or changing pads, moving too quickly, using dry pads or who knows what...

yeah, in my opinion, it was definately a rotary buffer that caused all this mess and i would guess it was in the hands of someone very in experienced. animes2k nailed it, dry pads, too aggressive polish, moving too fast, and obviously having the pad at too much of an angle. either way, i love seeing cars like this, makes me look that much better! haha jk
