Hi.

First off, we need a little bit more detail. Which kit did you buy? Which pads came with the kit? An orange pad from Edge and an orange pad from Lake Country won't have the same cutting power, so we can't tell you which pad to use until we know who made it.

Also, great choice in the polishes. Menzerna is my new favorite polish, Intensive Polish is an awesome product, FPII also gets my vote although I like their Micro Polish a little bit better. In any case, I think you'll be happy with the results they give you.

agree-

just would add that the first step to detailing is inspection...
the purpose of inspection is to decide which processes to use

if your paint is in good shape with just minor swirls, you use a different process than if its trashed-

It's a good kit. You can use NXT but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I've been using the same Menzerna products you mentioned for 3 years now. I'm assuming that the kit must have come with some recomendations but if not, first you have to access the condition of your paint. I go over my car once a year with a 3 step process that takes about 8 hours. First yellow pads with Intensive Polish. Second, white pads with Final Polish. Third black pad with Finishing Glaze. I top it all off with 3-6 coats of Zaino polish then add a coat of #26 Meguires yellow wax. Once a month over the course of the season I add a coat of #26 Meguires.

if you notice, those orange pads are a lot firmer and abrasive than the other pads in the kit. im considering using them to polish some haze out of my headlights.

they give you instructions for use on the page you linked. i would go with what they suggest.

bah, today i spent like 30 minutes in one section of the car, and there's still some swirls, but it did get rid of the little ones. i started by applying the polish at the speed of 4 and i increased to 6 to polish it and give it some heat. hm kinda disappointed:|

My experience is not to press the PC, let it work itself with the polish solution. One section at a time. Keep it at 4 and be patience until the polish solution dries out.

Hope it will work out better.
