Default Meguirs clay bars used for what purpose?

I bought a meguirs smooth surface clay kit the other day and wanted to know a few things.

1. How many times can I use the 50g clay bar ? How would I know it needs to be thrown away?

2. Is it only to remove surface contaminants or does it magically remove siwrl marks too?

1. There is no set number of times you should expect to be able to use a clay bar. Simply put, you use it until you can no longer remold it and get a clean surface to use. If you remold it and it still looks dirty than trash it. If you drop it on the ground then trash it.

2. It only removes surface contaminants like rail dust, sap, tar, industrial fall out, mineral deposits, paint overspray, etc.

Cut your bar into pieces. Use that piece until it need to be changed, then throw it away. Keep your unused pieces in a Ziploc bag

The Meg's one is pretty small, but you should use half of it for the entire car. Save it though, the old stuff is great for the wheels and glass. If you drop some on the ground, put it in your "non-painted surface" baggy
