Default Meguire's VS Zaino?

I'm a newbie to the wash and wax scene, and I'm trying to figure out what to use to finish my car. Someone recently told me at a local S2ki meet that Meguire's has a new finish product out that is better than Zaino and much less expensive. Would anyone here know what he was talking about? Or should I just order up the entire Zaino system? If there is a one or two stage process that looks as good or better than Zaino, I'd like to know about it.

pretty sure your buddy is talking about NXT and it is less expensive BUT it won't last as long as Zaino. my plan is to use nxt in the summer months and then add Zaino in the fall

If you don't want to go through all the steps of Zaino i'd recommend Wolfgang. It s a polymer that looks great and goes on and off with ease.

I just Zainoed My Spa, and I have NXT on The Real Rio ('90 CRX-Si), the NXT is good, and can be aquired easily, but it is not as good as Zaino. For The Real Rio it is perfect, but Zaino is more top notch.

go zaino, but go zaino light (dont order all of their products)...
imo there are better products for several purposes (such as car shampoo), and you dont need most of the zaino products right from the beginning-
for example, i find that z5 is not my fav topper for zaino, but didnt know that when i bought the products... also didnt know that i had a choice!

If I just go with Zaino 1 and 2 will that fill surface scratches and give me the mirror finish I dream of?

MagicDave, i think you meant Z5 for very very fine swirls & very very light scratches

Z1 and Z2 have no "fill in" properties

I don't find Zaino to be particulary good at covering/filling anything. It looks great on a properly prepped car that has been polished.

Over time (with multiple coats) Zaino is far superior to NXT. I like NXT - don't get me wrong - but the extra work that Zaino requires does pay off down the road.

NXT is excellent for a quick three week wax. Both should be topped off by a carnuba for extra depth
