meguiars plast-x DIY w/ PICS
Hey IK there has probably been one of these before but thought I would contribute as well. That and everyone likes looking at pictures.
First, The before pictures.
What I will use.
The MeGuiars Headlight kit.
Just a regular drill with a handle.
The first step I did was to blue tape around the headlights so I did not get the plast-x everywhere on the paint. YOU DONT WANT TO GET IT ON THE PAINT.
Here is a pic of the drivers side taping job.
Using the yellow buffer pad that came with the kit I buffed out the headlights, and the rest is history.
After the final buff on the driver headlight.
The difference
My favorite picture. I put tape down the middle to show the difference.
After both being done a few times
and of course a shot of the (unclean) engine.
I really enjoyed using this kit for the ease of it. as you can see it made a total difference and I am very pleased with the product. I bought the kit today at Wal-Mart for only 17 bucks and it came with the buffer, solution and terry cloth for the whole thing. Definitely worth the money.

looks great, I like that system because Plastx is pretty gentle on the plastic, it doesn't remove much material like some of the other kits out there. Looks amazing.

what do you guys recommend for plastic sealant on the lights after something like this, just regular car wax ?

If you had a pc and some pads, that would save you from buying the kit as they do just sell the plasti x.
I agree to make sure to get plastic specific sealant. I do believe blue magic has an over the counter product specifically for sealing headlights. I've seen it at autozone.
All of the cars I've used a wax on had the hazing come back. Could be the heat?
