I use the Adams VRT product, it's water based as well and have not any issues with it.

I've started to move away from Hyper Dressing myself. It's GREAT if you're a pro detailer especially for engine bays, wheel wells, dashboards, tires, etc. It's very cost effective and it's great to order only one product and be able to use it on so many different areas.

However, for the enthusiast detailer where cost is less of a concern I think there are better products out there. Right now I'm using CD2 in the engine bay, Chemical Guys Bare Bones on the wheel wells, Optimum Opt-Bond on the tires, and 1Z Cockpit Premium on the dashboard.

must be the new formula as the old water based dressing wouldn't last outside of the car if it rains

Bass, I don't know if it's new or not, I've found what typically does not adhere is due to the previous products used. If you were to use a silicon based product and then switch over to a water based it tends to not last well or penetrate the surface.

On tires I use a rubber prep that removes the dirt, oily road grime prior to using the dressing and have had better results. I like a nice dark matte finish rather than a shiny one.
