Default Meguiar's Gold Class on Top of Klasse

Just picked up some Klasse AIO earlier but I still have some Meguiar's Gold Class left over. Would applying Meguiar's Gold Class on top of Klasse provide extra protection or would the Gold Class wax simply remove the layer of Klasse? Also, are these layers wash resistant (I use Meguiar's NXT wash)?

As long as it's wax it should make the shine look deeper. It will not remove the Klasse. I use Klasse SG topped with P21S with good results.

Gold Class is a cleaner type wax loaded with solvents. if you want to top AIO get a decent carnauba or synthetic.

So it does alter the coating of Klasse then. For those of you who top Klasse with SG and P21s, how do you maintain it? For example, do you just repeatedly top on additional layers of P21s after your quick details or do you pile on another layer of SG and then P21s?

Yes, the solvents will remove some/all of the protection from previous coats of Klasse.

Edit: Thus the reason two or more coats of something like Klasse AIO is essentially useless (other than to make sure no spots were missed), as the cleaners remove previous layers of protection. Hense, Klasse SG, with not solvents, just protection.

EXCELLENT question! I'm interested in others' experiences too as I am planning on trying Jeff's Werkstatt (similar to Klasse) topped with P21S on my NFR...

you can go either way...

as long as you dont put the 21s on just before the klasse- if its been on there awhile (at least a coupla weeks) then good to go.

aio, sg, then p21s for first app

more p21s on top is easiest and is just fine the next time you detail. i also like carnauba based detail sprays for in between washes.

So, you're saying as long as the carnuba has had plenty of time to set up (or cure). Good to know (and makes sense)...

sorta-
it will cure in just a few hours...
you want it to have worn off at least a little, which it will do after a couple of weeks.

several years ago we were "sandwiching" carnaubas and a synthetic called finish first. when zaino came out, i contacted sal zaino and asked him whether we could sandwich zaino. he told us no...
being true wackos, we decided to try it anyway!!
the rest is history- sandwiching is now common, but usually does not include fresh carnauba under a synthetic (the synthetic will not have anything to bond to, so it is basically wasted- no harm, just no benefit).
