Masking during a detail?
Hey guys, its gonna be my first time detailing the new S2000 with the new PC, so I had a question.
I've use a buffer before, so I'm not worried, but do I need to masc of any trim from getting burned by the buffer? I'll be using mostly Adam's products which claim not to stain...

You should be fine with the PC. It doesn't generate the heat that a rotary does. Although technically you can do some damage with the PC (4"pad, aggressive pad/polish, holding on one spot) you'd almost have to be trying hard to do so, rather than it happening accidentally. The only time I mask is when using the rotary.
I haven't used Adam's polishes, but if they claim not to stain they probably won't. You could try applying a bit to an inconspicuous spot beforehand just to make sure it removes w/o staining.
Hope this helps.

i dont mask either (mainly cause i learned that way)- but its not hard to do and is probably a good idea for the first time... the other choice is to stay away from things you would mask.
it is a personal preference-

i used to mask but then it got really time consuming and i just learned to stay clear of soft rubber parts. or just bring the speed on the buffer down before i get too close so i dont burn anything

The first time I used the PC, I masked off everything I could think of. I probably won't do it again. Maybe the badges, but I tend to stay away from the rubber parts now. I can just do those parts by hand if I really need to.
