Yeah, my wife just stood there shaking her head as I set everything up. They just don't understand. As for the expense, I wasn't planning on buying everything all at once but when I saw the 15% off sale, I figured that the timing was right.

Wow, that is a lot of good stuff, but a huge part of the $500 bucks was probably the porter cable. Yeah, it's true about females not understanding. I've been spending a lot of time lately restoring a used S I bought, and while it is hard work, the results are worth it.
