Leather treatment for S2K and other items?
I need to pick up something with which to start treating the seats and leather surfaces on my S. That said, I also have a pair of decent leather sofas in my living room, each of which also should be maintained. Obviously the sofas have a lot more surface area than the car
The question I have is, can I use the same product for both? If that's what I'm trying to do, how do I pick something out? If I only think about the car than I easily can do a board search of S2ki.com and come up with some choices (which I've done) but most of those choices tend to be small-expensive-for-small-surface-areas solutions.... not good-enough-for-some-huge-sofas solutions.
Any thoughts?

I use the 2-step Meguiars system to treat my seats. In fact, I just did it this afternoon! It works great - stage 1 is a cleaner, and stage 2 is a conditioner. Just rub each of them into the seat, then wipe off the excess. It's available everywhere Meguiars stuff is sold (where isn't it?), it smells good, and it doesn't leave any glossy, shiny crap on your seats. They look darker and richer when you're done. This earns my highest recommendation. Go buy it - you'll be glad you did.
As for your couches - it says right on both bottles that the stuff can be used on pretty much any leather object. It lists luggage, chairs, etc., so you should be fine. I'll note that it also says to test the product in an inconspicuous area at first to see if it removes any of the color. Just follow the directions, and you'll be fine! Hope this helps!

meguiars is good stuff...
most recently i have been using townsend cleaner and also their conditioner- just prior to that i used the lexol products.
all of the above are great choices, imo.
and my recollection is that all of these products can be used on any leather- my wife uses meguiars on my leather chair.

Good 'ole is not so good in leather technology, products have come a long way since then...you could say the same about (not so) good 'ole armor all, it is devastating to leather.
The Leather Institute (a member of the Townsend Leather Group, the product specialty wing) sells a two part system, one being a cleaner...which will remove most if not all of the surface soiling on the leather, then you apply our Cleaner, Conditioner, Protector product which will not only lubricate the fibers, but it will make subsequent cleanings easier.
You can purchase these products in any size you want, 8oz., quart, gallon, 5-gallon, and so on. Many of the guys here have bought these products on my recommendations and I have heard nothing but the best reviews. We are online at www.leatherinstitute.com or call 800-242-9578.
