Large Deep Scratches, PLEASE HELP!
I put my dog in the garage last night during a storm do to the fact he hates thunder....When i let him out this morning I noticed that he had climbed up onto the hood of my red S2000 and that his paws had dug some pretty deep and long (=6-7inch.) scratches all the way into the primer!!! !
I washed it today to get a better look at it and it definatly needs more than a few coats of polish. I don't know if the scratches are bad enough to get it repainted. What do you all recomend I do?!?!? Also, it's 2 years old...so if I do have to get it repainted what are the chances that it will match the rest of the car?!?!
Thanks!

That really sucks, man. My condolences. Those are some big scratches. If it's down to the primer, my guess is you'll have to paint. Did you take good care of the rest of the car? If the rest of the paint has been well cared for and hasn't faded, there's a better chance (though not 100%) it'll match up.

Washed and waxed pretty much every other week and garaged every night. There was absolutely NO scratches on it prior to this and no visible knicks on the front bumper......I was trying as hard as possible to keep her in mint/show-room OEM condition......Alot of work that now means absolutly nothing. As of now I'm looking for a good detailer in the Houston, TX area...anyone know of any they would recomend?

Well, red would be easier to match up than, oh say, Silver. Black wouldn't be a problem matching up. a good body shop should be able to get it very close, but I wouldn't expect perfection. Good luck!

the trip to the body shop for a repainting will be expensive...
before you go that route, try some compounds such as meguiar's scratch-x.
might not work, but you dont have much to lose by trying!
you have already lost your clear coat in the scratched areas, and the scratch-x will take off the rest where you use it... so if it works, you will need to be really good at keeping the car waxed (or syntheticed!).
