how much is $169.99(canadian) shipped in US dollars though? I'm guessing they might charge more for shipping to US anyway. Picked up after tax at Lowes is about $119.

Do the pads interchange? Do the pads for the 7336 fit on the 7424 and vice versa? If this is a bad question sorry...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 7336 and the 7424 are the same "base" unit. The 7336 comes with sanding pads and accessories and the 7424 comes with polshing pads (crap) and accessories.

The way I have mine set up is with a Meguiars velcro backing plate. It has a 5/16" thread which I think is a pretty standard size for most polishing accessories. The pads are held on by velcro, so changing from a polishing pad to a waxing pad is a snap.

If you go down the route of using pads with the spindles built in, as long as they're 5/16" diameter, you'll be able to swap them out of the PC with no problemo.

I just picked up a 7336. Now i need to get a flexi velcro backing plate and 3 different pads correct?

1. light cutting to take care of swirls
2. polishing pad
3. wax pad.

If anyone is interested. I just bought the 7336 SP at the Lowes Lincolnwood, IL store(It also showed in stock at the Kenosha WI store, online for $93.77. Picked up after tax it was $101.97

Anyone have any suggestions on pads?

So anyone know what it's ~$15 cheaper at Lowes in such locations than it is where I'm located?

No idea, but it said local price is lower, next to the newly lowered price.

My suggestion. Try entering zipcode 60077, for the lincolnwood store, shop that store, get the local price. and then ship it to you. You'll save a few bucks, but still pay a little bit for shipping. So if you were going to pickup locally then I guess no luck.
