Default How to wash the soft top to it its cleanest?

I used to live in Amarillo, TX and for those of you that don't know, it gets very windy and dusty up there almost every day. No matter how hard I scrub my soft top with raggtop cleaner, I can still see the dirt in the soft top after its dried. There are also dirt build up around the crevices of the soft top where it meets the trunk/rear quarter panel. Any ideas to get my soft top back to pristine condition?

I was thinking about scrubbing it with the raggtop cleaner and water then taking a high pressure washer and carefully spray it over the soft top.

p.s. I moved back to the DFW area. Thank you baby jesus!

Try using a soft short bristle brush, dirt tends to become imbedded in the vinyl fabric. Use plenty of car wash soap/water and gentle pressure to lift the dirt and then rinse as usual.

I use Raggtop, and it works really well.

Are you using a brush?

That would be my question as well, definitely need to agitate it with a horsehair brush or something of the like for it to be affective.

Does the cleaner remove the protectant though?

I would say yes. I know I always put on protectant after I use the cleaner.

Yeah, and I used a whole can of that expensive crap last time!! Given that I never have the top up, I just use water, I am never bothered by how the top looks and I can go a long time before putting on the protectant

I was using a small vinyl brush but just got the horse hair brush pictured above. Going to try it out this weekend!

I have that same brush but haven't used it - it sheds hair like crazy just running my hand over it.
