Put them in a 5 gallon bucket and put either dawn or car soap. Let them set for couple of mins and then use your hands to wash. To dry, put the pad into the pc or rotary spin it for couple of mins on medium speed. Then let it sit.

This will work but it might leave some residue from the soap. There are pad cleaners out there that will not leave anything behind

For example: Pad Cleaner kit

xmt is good for cleaning... i also use a sonus product, and car soap works too.

scrub by hand, rinse well and spin on the pc-
i use the lowest setting on the pc, cause in the old days (pc was still a sander) i blew apart a pad by spinning it too fast- was a pretty funny sight. the pad was doing great, then started to get larger and suddenly just flew apart...

after they spin dry, leave them out until they are completely dry- then i keep mine in a box.

You guys say spin it to dry on the PC, is it OK if I just let it hang dry?

The pads stain right? IE, I have the edge white polishing pad, with yellow DP max wax, and it doesn't come out all the way. When do you know when it's time to buy new pads?

stains happen
and they are o.k.
you know when its time to buy new pads... when you want to!
or if they start falling apart-
as mine get older, i just use them for beater cars.
i have old ones that i just dont use any more-
especially now that i have the edge pads.
