I don't use 303 anymore; I use RaggTopp. However, I have tested this a couple of ways and I can easily go three months without haveing to reapply. A lot will deend on how you wash the top. If you use a harsh cleaner or a convertible top cleaner with a scrub brush, you will have to apply after each wask. If you use your wash mitt and regular car wash solution you should be good for 3-4 months.
The stuff that washes off after a rain / car wash is typically excess material you did not need on the top anyway. The top should still be protected.

good points above-
my top is always under the boot, so it gets washed about once a year- and always gets protection when its washed. if i had to use it more often i would protect it any time that i wash it (the protectants contain sunscreen- which keeps it looking new- and at least some of that is washed off when you wash the car)...

I usually wash every week. I just go over the top lightly with the wash mitt and my preferred soap (rains here a lot in the summer and car gets dirty fast) and apply 303 every 3rd wash or so. My MY00's top looked brand new when I traded it at 61K miles using this method. (The dealer thought I had recently replaced it and offered accordingly.) So I don't think it's necessary to apply more frequently, you could probably go 4 or 5 washes and still have 303 protectant on the top. Just my .02

wow i must be wasting my 303.
after every wash (about every 7 times i take the car out) i put a new coat of 303. i guess it is good because i use my wash mitt and i use a soft brush. u can really see white foam when you spray it with a hose.
