Funny that you mentioned those make-up pads. I actually use the same thing for my seats with Lexol, except that I do not think the make up pads are 100% cotton (it's one of those more durable ones) -- so I'm not using that on the paint.

I guess those deposable 100% cotton pads are good ones if they are really soft ... I'm just tired of the applicator eating up all my polish before any goes on to my paint!
The make-up pads that I get are 100% cotton. They are NOT the foam rubber ones. This latest batch from CVS are labeled quilted 100% cotton, also. They just fall apart and feel like a folded up piece of Kleenex.

The last batch felt more like cotton. They woud fluff up with the Z-1 Polish Lok and with the Z-2 or Z-5 they would mat down and feel like they were saturated with wax.

I do not use the ZFX because I only do a small section at a time. The last few months, on Mondays, I would polish out the cone marks from playing sporty car before I took the car off the trailer and I would polish out one other panel that I had been noticing a scuff mark on. All I have left to do is the hood and the top of the front fenders, plus any new marks.

When I got the car, it looked like it had been scrubbed with a ScotchBrite.
