How Long to Wait Before Waxing
My car was in an accident, and as a result, the body shop had to paint many pieces of my S (hood, front, quarter panel, etc.) Does anyone know how long I should wait before waxing my car? I've heard with new cars you are suppose to wait six months. If this is true, I imagine it would be the same in my case. Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks.

first, with a new car you should not wait...
however, with a repaint it depends on the process that is used- so imo you need to ask the body shop for their recommendation-

6 weeks usually is long enough. If it is baked sometimes less time, but at 6 weeks you are good no matter what, that is what i was told. You can always "wax" with a non-carnuba, non-sealing polish that will be new paint safe, these are sometimes called glazes. Inquire at the body shop or specialty detailing store, they will know which ones you can use. just dont seal up curing paint or it can haze.
hope this helps,

I consider Zymol the car care experts. This is what they have to say regarding when to wax new cars & freshly painted cars:
Q: I have a new car, when can I wax it?
A: Wax it now. Right after cleaning the paint first using HD-Cleanse
