How long should I wait to wax?
I remember reading somewhere that you should wait a little while with a new car before waxing it.
Is this an old wives tale, can I wax the car three days after buying it. I figure the paint had plenty of time to cure on the long boat ride over from japan.
Any thoughts?

It's ready when you are. Even though it's brand new I would clay it first. Some new cars have a lot of crap embedded in the surface of the paint from the transport ( rail dust, road grime etc), Darla's FX was the worst I've seen but after a good claying it is smooth as silk.

I know this will sound bad, but I recommend washing it with dawn dish soap the first time, then clay it, then wash it with your regular car soap... followed up with your wax/zaino/whatever.
And go for it as soon as you want, it's had plenty of time to cure

yup, its an old wives tale for any clear coated car like yours-
detail it asap, imo.
and put the best protection on it that you can. my fav would be a synthetic (like zaino) topped by a carnuba (like p21s)
