How long before I can wax after new paint?

ok from my knowledge...
Some of cheaper wax contains cleansing elements which is not a good thing for brand new paint.
These cleansing elements are very lightly abrasive to clean the surface of paint.
and I am pretty sure black magic wax contains some of cleansing elements in their wax too.
This is why bodyshop tells you to not to wax your car for while.
Plz correct me if I'm wrong
