While fixing my rust spots, I went a little "loco" w/ the topcaot spray and painted parts of the doors & rocker panels. of course i ended up w/ overspray paint spots!!

good news is that the single stage factory white paint is already trashed, so i'm not losing any sleep over the spray spots.. but will a heavycut cleaner & compound polishing get rid of the overspray?

Detailing clay is the answer. It is in use in body shops all over the place for removing overspray. I believe it may have been developed specifically for this purpose.

claybar's original use was to remove overspray. Remember to turn it twice as much as you would normally so you don't gouge the surface from embedded paint particles.

btw, can clay remove overspray from black plastic moldings?

It can, but it might get a little sticky. Use lots of lube and a light touch and be prepared to clean sticky clay off the plastic.
