Naptha ( available at any home depot/lowes) is the absolute best for removing glue residue. It will not harmeven delicate surfaces,I build guitars and use it to remove residue on Lacquer and even French polish which is extremely delicate.Works like a charm.

There are two kinds of people in the world:

Those who have used peanut butter to remove adhesive residue before, and those who don't believe them.
smooth or crunchy?

Ok, you told me so then

I for one, HAVE used peanut butter to remove adhesive from surfaces in the past. So I know it works, and no, I'm not joking.

3M Tape and Adhesive Remover, aka M600. Made by 3m for just this purpose. Use a small amount on a cloth and rub.

Any method you use will require effort. There is no "easy" way.

heard goo gone can be bad for paint, really peanut butter????
I have used goo gone to remove the oem stickers from all of the motorcycles I have owned. These are huge stickers that take up most of the fairing and they were probably applied soon after the parts were painted. I still never had any problems with fading or peeling.
