Warm peanut butter and elbow grease. The oils in the peanut butter break down the adhesive with some rubbing. Soap takes off the peanut butter.

Gasoline also works too, but it's your call if you want to slather gasoline all over your paint. I've used it to take residue safely off glass, but I wouldn't get it on my clearcoat.

There are two kinds of people in the world:

Those who have used peanut butter to remove adhesive residue before, and those who don't believe them.

disclaimer: Hey, I don't know what kind of crazy, industrial, nuclear adhesive was used on your side skirts, and I'm sure there are some that cannot be broken down by peanut butter. But give it a shot. What do you have to lose? The peanut butter won't hurt your paint as long as you wash it off afterwards. Just keep in mind that I said it also requires some rubbing. Apply it with your finger to a localized area, and work in circles until it begins to lift. Or try using a soft, clean rag. If it doesn't work... well... you can say "I told you so," and I will jump off the "Peanut Butter as Adhesive Remover "bandwagon.

you might want to patent that idea in case it really works!

i know plenty of people that use goo gone. this is the first that ive heard it hurts the paint although i dont think thats true. if it were, i doubt the majority would suggest using it.
