Have you tried mother back to black or 303 protectant on it ???

That's not going to work. His top is scuffed up. When plastic gets scuffed like that the top layer is damaged and gets almost a "fuzzy" feel and appearance. The polish also may have dyed the plastic.

Also, black plastic dye is going to look streaky, trust me.

This is why I did not respond initially to this thread. It's quite possible the only answer is to buy a new air box.
How much is a used airbox lid thats not faded, I have seen whole airboxes go for $40 dollars.
