Default How do you clean your top?

This is my first convertible. What do you guys do to clean or condition the top? Is there anything I should watch out for?

Easy. . . . Nothing special. Wash it with the same car wash you use for your car and coat it with 303 about once a month.

and if you have a choice-
i keep mine under the boot almost all the time.
it still looks like new after 3+ years, and has only been washed twice!
when i cleaned it, i used porsche top cleaner, but i agree with whaler- no need to use that stuff... you can use any good car shampoo. i used vinylex, but 303 is good too.
whatever you use to preserve it, be sure to wipe down really well. and apply to the rag (then wipe it on the car) not directly to the top.

I've used the 303 stuff, but find the Porsche Tequipment soft top shampoo and conditioner work better.

I have a 3M product I found in the boat section of my local Wal-Mart, supposedly has UV protection in it. It keeps my top nice and black and makes water bead off of it for a month or so at a time, pretty pleased with it.

Whichever product you choose one thing to remember is don't over do it. You'll find the stuff runs all over the windows every time you wash the car.

303 protectant is the name, you can buy it many places on-line or usually at any boat supply store
