How to clean area between the door sill
I tried to look at autopia's guide on detailing but can't seem to open it. To clarify my question, I wanted to know what I should use to clean off the road grime (black and sticky stuff) on the painted area between the door sill and the jacking strips. That part is painted but is really lumpy, I was wondering if there was a product strong enough to remove tar-like substances but won't damage the paint because it is a painted surface.

I use my older clay bar. As in...after I have done the rest of the car, I will hit that part with the clay. Only if it is really bad though. I usually throw some wax on there too. Not sure if it matters or not, but I do it.

try a scrub brush and hot water with car soap. It might scratch slightly, but it's the bottom of the car and you wont be able to see it unless it's jacked up or your lying on the ground. The other option would be an old wash mit with hot water and car soap if you are worried about scratches.
The part you are talking about is supposed to be bumpy though... to avoid rock chips etc.
