Help - my wifes Durango scraped the nose of my S
Over the weekend my wife unfortunately reversed her Durango into my S
The rear bumper of the truck grazed up over the nose of the S causing some marking of the paint on the plastic. I tried buffing it out with colored wax and in regular light you can't see any damage, but under lower light you can still see the grazing of the paint.
What is the best way to go about fixing this, the paint seems very very thin on that front plastic, will I be able to cut it or not??
Any help appreciated but please only advice from tried and tested experience, I don't want to mess this up any more.

I've had some scuffing on the front bumper and it's close to impossible to get it off. You may want to use either polishing or rubbing compound to clean out the contaminants in the paint first. The use something like 3m's Perfect-it to polish out the finer scratches and then finally, apply some wax/sealant to gloss it up and protect it. It should hide the damage under most lighting situations.

I would try the above, but check to see if you have any clear left. If not...you can try touch up clear, but the only real way to fix it would be to spray it.
Sorry to hear about it. Hopefully an easy solution will come.

You may want to do a search or possibly post on the site listed below. There is a wealth of car detailing knowledge possessed by the members of this site.

Hi Notion,
If you can't seem to get the mark out yourself, I would recommend having a professional detailer try to buff that spot out. That is if its just on top of the paint and its not a deep scratch. I had someone slide into the back of my Eclipse years ago while sitting at a light and left a mark on the paint. I used rubbing alcohol and I think some WD-40 on the mark and it came right off. Depending on how bad the mark is on your car, you may have to have it checked out by professional detailer who maybe able to buff it right out with a high rpm buffer and polish.
Thanks,
Richard
