Okay car care experts! I need to know if these scratches can be buffed out and if so, using what type of wheel / buffer / drill attachment. Also, what type of compound / polish to use... They are not extremely deep (dropped the knob on the garage floor from an overhead height, causing the scratches - ouch) but hand-buffing did not remove them

TIA!

I've gotten a few suggestions to fine sand the top using a drill attachment and fine sandpaper - anyone know of any other options? Thanks!

simon's idea is great!
i wonder if they can coat the knob after they get the scratches out to help prevent that in the future...
do you know what caused this?
might be a good excuse for a new (different) knob!!

Yeah run down to the jewlers and put your knob on the counter.

The assistant may well inform you it is a CLOCK shop not a **** shop

That is a good suggestion though in seriousness

Good one! I was waiting to see how long it would take the "knob polish" or "knob anything" jokes to come out!
