Um, since you are Zainoing your headlights, could it be a film of Zaino that is flaking off?

Today, I have seen this phenomenon first hand on a friend's S2000 (MY02). Plexus will momentarily hide this hazing effect, but as soon as the Plexus dries, the hazing comes back, only not as dramatically. This confirms to me that the imperfection is within the plastic of the headlight lens just under the surface. It is my belief that this has been caused by UV radiation over an extended period of time and it is magnified by virtue of the background being black. This would cause the lens material to get exceptionally hot and aggravate or promote this "deterioration". It is definately NOT from pitting due to normal daily driving and having foreign materials hit the lens. I doubt that polishing the surface will do anything as the imperfection is within the under-surface layers of plastic.
I have a thick layer of 3M film over my headlights since the first week I've had the car and it is perfectly clear. I think the 3M film acts as a barrier to prevent much of the UV radiation from penetrating into the initial layer of the headlight lens. Not all S2000 lenses do this. I consider that this is a manufacturuing defect that Honda should own up to. Whether or not they see it this way is yet to be discovered.

Good to know. I've referred this thread to my friend so he can give the polishing a try. Hopefully, the haze isn't too far into the plastic.

I don't think polishing will save mine, tried polishing with Zaino, with another wax and now Plexus, still a bit foggy. I think it is beyond help so i'll just try not let it get any worse.

Everything you mentioned is NOT a polish but sealants or protectants. You need to be using something that has abrasive properties like a swirl remover (zaino has swirl covers).

Here is my headlight polishing thread
