Has anyone installed the 3M Paint Protection Film themself?
I just got back from a local auto body supply shop and picked up a quart of the 3M Imperial Hand Glaze, and I also ordered a bulk roll (6" x 84") of the 3M Paint Protection Film. I was wondering if anyone has experience installing the film? I hear it is pretty difficult and time consuming. Has anyone installed it from a roll, not the pre-cut pieces?
I'm looking to install the film myself on my front bumper, also known as my autox cone deflector shield. It took a pretty hard cone scuff last weekend that the Hand Glaze pretty much took care of, but I want to prevent further damage. So I ordered the roll of the 3M film. I'm not looking to cover the whole bumper, just the low, cone height areas. What have I gotten myself into? Will the rolled material look good with edges butted against each other? Anyone with experience or some advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
