Another option: http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...ater+filter.do
A cheaper alternative is buy a RV inline water filter, they have quick connect hose ends available and should last about one year depending on the amount of solids, etc.

We have hard water in our area. I do two things: (1) I try to keep the car wet during the wash process. I wash a panel and when I rinse it I usually spray the rest of the car, especially the horizontal panels. (2) After I have washed and dried the car, I always go over it with a quick detailer. This removes any water spots and streaks that may have been left behind.

I have very soft water w/lots of dissolved minerals, it forms a film on the car if it dries on. If it dries before I can dry it I have to wash the area again, the worse is the glass. I try and wash my car at a friends who has city water.....

Sheet rinsing with adam's detail spray right after, is how I dry. There's less water left standing once you get the hang of it and the spray buys you a little time.
