Hand Waxing
From this link
Video Link
Previously posted by another member the video shows the guy massaging in the wax by hand, not by an applicator nor orbital. Has anyone tried this? Are there any benefits? I've been waxing cars for quite sometime and never thought about doing this.

I can't say I've ever tried that. Than again, he even says the product he's using reacts to the his hands and the air to setup. I've never used anything that 'likes' the oils from my skin enough to enhance it's shine. I gotta imagine most products don't like the addition of random quantities of skin oils into it's mix.
Did anyone else cringe when he dried the car outside using a microfibre towel? Of course those black cars get swirls marks, you put them there!!!

One of the many, many products in my arsenal is Zymol and this is the method they recommend for applying their waxes. I'm a stickler for following product directions. So, this is the method I use when applying the Zymol.
After doing this for years, I can say without a doubt that there is NO WAY that hand rubbing wax on your car adds anything to the finish. This being said Zymol seems to be "chunkier" than other waxes I've used and seems to need the heat of your hands to liquify enough for application.
As for Zymol reacting to the air . . . what the company claims is that Zymol is not actually wax until it reacts with the air. Seems like kind of an outlandish claim, but they do package their wax in an air tight container. Zymol products have served me well over the years whether they need to react with air or not. I'm not a chemist so I make no claim to be able to verify or debunk the truth of this statement.
