Default Got My meguiars DA g110v2 polisher, but something doesn't seem right

I ordered my Meguiars G110v2 Polisher off Amazon 2 days ago and got it in today. As I was putting it together I noticed that the Backing pad after it was screwed onto the polisher itself would wobble if you looked at it from the side.

I wasn't sure if this was the polisher itself that was off or the backing pad was warped or bent and when it spun would wobble

Im not sure if i should return it to amazon cause the other polishers might have the same defect or other backing pads, and I just found out meguiars HQ is only 45-hour away from my house. Im gonna try calling meguiars tom see if I can just swing by their HQ and see if they can just replace the backing pad or the polisher itself if thats the problem

Can anyone with a meguiars DA polisher or a DA polisher of any kind tell me if their backing pad wobbles like this? Im thinking this well create unwanted pressure while im polishing in different areas.

45-hour looks like 45 hours.

Have you tried removing the backing plate? It looks like it is cross threaded to me. My backing plates on my PC don't wobble like that.

Im PRETTY sure its the backing plate now that I was able to spin it off the DA polisher and the actual plate seems to be warped

I was able to sit it on top of a tube that was level and stationary and I turned the backing plate slowly and it wobbled....awesome. I wish I knew someone around here that had a Meguiars DA so I could test another backing plate just to be sure.

Sorry I meant 45 minute drive. L.a. to irvine.

Did you watch the youtube video? The actual backing plate doesn't spin flat if you look at it from the side, im not talking about the actual spinning of the disc and oscillations.

Most youtube videos don't show it spinning from the side so no way to tell, and its never spun by hand like I showed in my video.

I never noticed it, but my backing plate wobbles a little too, but significantly less.

I have a G110v2 too, isn't it supposed to do that? I mean it wont be going in perfect circles but in oscilations. Make a video of it, that way the users of G110 will be able to help you more on it

.............I DID make a video of it, its been on the original post when I first made this thread, which everyone has made a comment on after they saw the video.

Plus if you look at what I actually wrote I said "from the side". You wouldn't notice Oscilations if you were looking at the side of a DA polisher because it would be the flat thin side of the backing plate not the front of back. Anyway problem solved, meguiars said it wasn't normal and sent me a new plate and even talked to me for a few minutes to try and get info to prevent this from future plates. If you tried to use the DA with this wobble it would cause abnormal pressures zones while trying to use the polisher.

Everyone that posted on the thread I made on the actual meguiars forum said it wasn't normal so if you never checked your polisher, I would do so now. Maybe a VERY SLIGHT wobble is acceptable but not the wobble I had.
