It's the pearl coat from what your describing
So it shouldnt matter if they put sikkens, dupont all the way down to Montana or transstar on it... too much pearl means a lot of dry coats sitting on top of the base or too many coats... some manufaturers may even specifiy the wrong size pearl in the formula but, sikkens is usually better than cupont in my experience.
***anyone want a car that matches every time .. get black. Then the only issue is the gloss between old and new.

I'd call your insurance company and explain that the paint shop cannot correctly duplicate the paint. Your insurance company should authorize a complete new paint job for the whole car. This seems only right and reasonable to me. You pay for insurance to put you "whole", mismatched painted panels does not meet this criteria.
