Default Good wax applicator (power)

Whats up fellas.....

Im looking for a good orbital or whatever wax applicator to put on my NXT. The Craftsman one seems waaaaaay to abrasive, and I dont know what else to look for.

Links and ideas MUCH appreciated.

Personally, I don't use a machine to do my final wax application, only for polishing or compounding, but if you're going to use a machine, it doesn't get much better than the Porter Cable 7424. You can check it out here: http://www.sportscarcare.com/scc/pro...ItemID=pc-7424. The Porter Cable is a random orbital polisher. I'd stay away from true orbitals unless you have experience with them, as they can burn the paint, if not used properly.

You can also read up on using the Porter Cable here: http://www.bettercarcare.com/articles.php?articleId=47

The newer products are much easier to apply and remove by hand. I like to apply my wax/synthetics by hand because I feel like I have better control, especially for polymers that go on thin like NXT, Wolfgang, Zaino, Blackfire, Poorboys.

Also, stay away from the 9" jumbo random orbitals that are sold in most auto parts stores and sears. They don't have the power to work porperly.

I use a porter cable , but never NXT. I think if one is going to spend the money on an random orbital polisher, then spend the money on the complete pkg and get pads to do swirl mark removal as well, instead of just for final polish. Regardless, it "mixes" in waay better than "wiping on" by hand.

Dave...

I just got & started using the Porter Cable _ after one session I am really happy with the process and the results - I haven't had the need (other than my obsessive compulsiveness) to try too many polishes & waxes...or the time.

If you'd like to try the PC out by me in NJ area before commiting to it? we could perhaps arrange a bit of a detailing day at my place? BobbyB was going to try to come out for a 'shine'

nice offer from joel... take him up on it!

the porter cable (pc) is the only way to go these days, imo...
got mine from coastaltool.com and get my pads from various sources, but i like properautocare.com too.
you will need one for any polishing job -
i think its a good idea to learn to use it with your wax/synthetic. you just might like it so much that you keep using it for that! i agree its not necessary, but i use mine usually for my protection coats. just did a z2/p21s combo by pc couple weeks ago.

take it easy with the machine, and keep the speed down until you learn to use it.
get one and you will be addicted to it!

Click HERE to purchase PC 7424 Kit

I have one and I polish my car in under 1 hour! My arms aren't aching the next day. Plus I dont think you can get the same results by hand.
Heck My wife uses it to polish the fiberglass shower! She likes the idea I bought it now!!
