goo gone safe to use on wheels?

Default goo gone safe to use on wheels?
I have this sticker-like residual on the inside of my BBS RG-R wheels from old balancing weights that have since been replaced. What's the best stuff to use to take it off? Is Goo Gone safe and effective to use?

goo gone is fine...
so is (believe it or not) wd-40!
be sure to rewax the wheels when finished
