Default Going to attempt "scuff" treatment after tape removal.

I have just removed the windscreen tape and I have one scuff mark on the passenger side upper corner, about the size of a thumb print.

I decided to pick up some Meguiars ScratchX, but before I attempt to use it, I thought it would be wise to ask for other opinons first

Any thoughts?

If the scratches are primarily on the surface I would try 3M swirl mark remover. It worked great on my sebring. Make sure you get the stuff for "light colored cars".

Scratch X works pretty well. I had a scratch on my fender and it got most of it out. You may have to apply it a few times.

Thanks guys. Is ScratchX too "strong" to use first or can I use it safely without needing to buy (or find) 3M swirl as well?

scratch x is a good solution and is not too strong- if concerned use it on a small edge first and then expand the area.
you should not need to swirl remove after scratch x.
(if you have a swirl remover already, you could try that first).
but you will need to rewax after..
let us know your results-

btw, we have assumed that the scratches are not down into the primer or beyond-

I have just picked up Meguiars Quick Clay/Detailer which I will use first and then follow up with Scratchx.

All done. Managed to get it 98% clear, but if I catch an angle and look hard, I can just see a minor remnant of swirls.

I will see how it looks in natural light, but I am initially very pleased. Thanks for all of the advice.

those kinda reports are why we hang out here!
feels good to help-

sounds like you could finish it off with either the scratch x or a swirl remover-
if it was me, based on your report that its pretty much cleared up, i would live with it until the next time you detail the car then go after it once more-
