Zaino website is still recommending Dawn to strip the wax prior to doing the Zaino treatment.

"3. I would definitely recommend you remove the wax buildup on your paint. Just use Liquid Dawn (hand dishwashing liquid) as a car wash. It has a high alkaline content which cuts right thru carnauba wax, paraffin, silicone oils, etc. This will get your paint finish squeeky clean and wax free."

Why would you use something ment for dishs on your car often? There are special paint cleaners out there to do this properly and here to help is Proper Auto Care.

Ummm yeah . . . I don't exactly regard Sal Zaino as a car care expert. I have nothing against his products as they seem effective, but they do yield a result I don't personally find pleasing to the eye. However, the man recommended the use of cotton towels instead of microfiber for a long time. Even now he only endorses one brand of microfiber. Plus, Sal is the only car care manufacturer who recommends the use of Dawn (at least that I'm aware of )
