Getting out Bug Stains
Hey gang, I am a detail freak (4 month old S2000 and it has 5 coats of Zaino) and such and I am stumped atm. I wasn't able to wash my car for 2 weeks and today I was finally able to. Everything is fine except for on my front bumper I have 3 little pink marks from some bugs. I used a clay bar but it didnt do jack. I used some Zaino swirl remover as a mild abrasive and that didn't work either. I am totally stumped. I need to get these little marks off or I won't sleep!!! Please help me.

If clay and polish won't remove them then I don't think it's a bug. Whatever it is it sounds like it etched into the clearcoat. How many tries with swirl remover have to performed.

Remember you said you've got 5 coats of wax on top of the paint. If the stain is in that layer you might want to use whatever is recommended by Zaino to remove that layer of wax and then see where you are.

bug splats that sit become shellac... so you need a shellac remover that wont hurt paint.
that would be a paint cleaner- a paint cleaner is one of the lightest levels of polish there is, similar to a swirl remover (which would also be fine to try).
you could try this by hand, but my experience is that i can never do as good of a job by hand than i can with the machine. it is likely that this stain is now into your clearcoat, so you will need to remove a micro amount of it to get the stain out.
if you post up in your local forum that you need someone with a machine to show you how to do this, and you offer to supply the product and refreshements, you are likely to learn how to use the machine, get the problem taken care of and make a new friend all at the same time!!
