Default Getting Dried Wax Off My S2k

Bought my S2k back in May and haven't had a lot of time to detail it. I finally went out today and noticed a sh|tload of dried caked on wax from the crappy dealership

I got a bit of it off but there is some that is just not rubbing off. Any ideas on some easy cleaner or something that wont hurt the paint? Also any ideas on how I can get the wax out of the nooks and crannies all over the car....

Found wax....found dents....now pissed at that dealership for not being upfront with the damages....

Thanks in advance!

where is the wax at? if it is in the joints between pannels etc... then take a soft bristled tooth brush and tie a piece of a cotton t-shirt around it. if its on the acutal pannel then you can either use 1. lots of elbow grease, or 2 wash your car with dawn several times( that will strip the car of all wax)

I agree w/sumir about Dawn.... U want to wax (Zaino!) the car with something u know... Dawn will strip the wax off-- and IMHO, I'd do just that and re-"wax" it afterward.

Best of luck, and if you have problems, please post 'em..love to help ya out.

p.s. if you don't own Zaino yet, checkout www.zainobros.com call up Sal and place your order... Minimum, get ZFX+Z2.
p.p.s. Don't get me started on Zaino, I love the stuff!

Easiest way to get dried wax off is to hit it with some quick detail spray and it will wipe right off.

Thanks for all the help... I will try the dawn solution and the toothbrush to get in the cracks....

What is detail spray? Are you talking about something like one of those spray cleaners or is it something specific?

Thanks again for all your help!

It's basically a liquid wax. I believe in the Zaino line it is Z-6. But here are several QD's out there. I use the QD from Griot's Garage but Meguiars,Mothers and every other wax line has their own. If you are going to do the dawn wash just know that it will strip all of the wax from your car and that you need to was your whole car right afterwards or yu will have no protection for your paint. I would recommend the QD until you are ready for a full wash/claybar/wax day. You can great info on wash and wax at Autopia including product reviews and how tos.

Good Luck,
Mark
