In Texas drying is never an issue, unless it's winter. I use a popsicle stick or similar to prop open the open end of the mitt to allow air inside, no need to turn inside out and dry outside.

If you turn the mitt inside out the inside skin dries. If you leave it right side out the wool insulates the skin and it takes longer for the inside to dry, and then it rots.
